Breaking changes

Breaking changes ship under a new URL prefix. The current prefix is /v1/. There is no /v2/ yet.

When a /v2/ prefix is introduced, /v1/ will continue to receive critical fixes for at least 18 months. Migration guides are published before any deprecation window begins.

The OpenAPI document's info.version field bumps on every breaking change. The current value is 1.0.0 — the /v1/ surface is committed to backwards compatibility. Breaking changes will be gated behind a new URL prefix (/v2/…) and announced in this changelog at least 90 days before the old version is sunset.
